When a Referral May Be Helpful
And When Another Level of Care May Be Needed
When Might a Referral Be Helpful?
Providers may consider referring when a patient or client is experiencing:
Anxiety, excessive worry, or emotional overwhelm
Trauma-related stress or unresolved difficult experiences
Burnout, chronic stress, or emotional exhaustion
Grief, loss, or significant life transitions
Relationship or attachment concerns
Difficulty adjusting to changes in health, independence, or living environment
Emotional concerns that may benefit from a mind-body approach to psychotherapy
Referring an older adult? Human Freely also provides on-site psychotherapy within participating assisted living communities in Broward County.
When Another Level or Type of Care May Be Needed
Human Freely provides outpatient psychotherapy and may not be appropriate when someone primarily requires:
Crisis stabilization or acute psychiatric care
PHP, IOP, residential, or inpatient treatment
Detoxification or structured substance-use treatment
Psychiatric medication management without psychotherapy
Forensic or court-ordered evaluation services
Services outside our current clinical scope

FAQs
-
Yes. Human Freely currently participates with Aetna and Medicare
For clients planning to use insurance benefits, we encourage providers to have clients verify their outpatient mental health coverage directly with their insurance carrier, including deductible amounts, copays, coinsurance responsibilities, authorization requirements, and any session limitations.
We also maintain a private-pay practice and work with clients utilizing out-of-network (OON) benefits. Depending on a client’s plan, out-of-network reimbursement may significantly offset session fees, which range from $160–$215.
To simplify the out-of-network process, we partner with Thrizer, a platform that helps automate benefit verification and claims reimbursement. Eligible clients may only be responsible for their estimated copay or coinsurance after meeting their deductible, rather than paying the full session fee upfront and waiting for reimbursement independently.
Clients can verify potential out-of-network benefits during the intake process or by using the benefits checker available on the Fees & Insurance page prior to scheduling.
